CELPIP Results: When They Arrive, How to Check Them, and How Long They Stay Valid

After you finish the test, the waiting starts, and it's one of the most common things people ask us about. Here's exactly what happens next, based on CELPIP's own published timelines.

How long you'll wait

Standard results are posted online within 2 to 4 business days after your test date. Business days exclude weekends and holidays, so a Friday test typically means results the following week, not over the weekend.

If you need your results faster (a tight application deadline, for example), CELPIP offers an Express Rating option for an additional fee, which brings your results down to 1 to 2 calendar days. This is worth knowing about early, since it has to be selected as part of registration, not requested afterward.

Where to actually check them

Your results are posted to your official CELPIP online account, the same account you used to register. You'll get an email notification once they're ready, and from there you can view and download your official Score Report as a PDF directly from your account. There's no separate portal or third-party site involved.

The two-year clock

Once issued, your CELPIP result is valid for two years from your test date. This matters for more than just IRCC applications: employers, schools, and other institutions that accept CELPIP will also check that your score is still inside that window.

A detail worth planning around: your result needs to still be valid at the time your application is assessed, not just when you submit it. If your application is likely to take a while to process, book your test with enough runway that your score won't expire partway through, since an application built on an expired result can create real delays.
